Access And Sign-In
Q: I signed in but features are missing or grayed out. Why?
Your tier determines which features are active. Open Settings > Subscription and confirm your current plan. Upgrade if needed. See Pricing, Plans, And Capability Map.
Q: I signed in but I cannot deploy. What should I check?
First check: (1) tenant is connected in Settings > Tenant Connection, (2) subscription is active in Settings > Subscription, (3) your monthly quota has not been reached (Tier 0 is limited to 20 deployments per month).
Q: I see "Deployers do not have access to this section." What does that mean? Your role is Deployer. You can deploy, update, and use Intune Insights, but administrative actions (user management, catalog visibility, admin panel) require the Administrator role. Contact your administrator. See Sign-In: Roles And Access (RBAC).
Q: Can I change my own role? No. A role change must be made by an Administrator from the admin panel.
Tenant Connection
Q: What does "tenant not connected" mean?
PackMyApp uses a linked Microsoft Entra tenant to deploy apps. If no tenant is linked, deploy and update actions are unavailable. Use Settings > Tenant Connection to connect.
Q: Do I need to reconnect the tenant every time I sign in? No. The tenant link persists across sessions. You only need to reconnect if the link expires, if you disconnect manually, or if you switch to a different customer workspace.
Q: The health check fails on tenant. What now?
Open Settings > Tenant Connection, click Test connection, and read the error. Common causes: expired Microsoft consent, wrong account, or network connectivity. See Troubleshooting: Tenant Connection Issues.
Deployment
Q: The deploy wizard shows a blank tenant list. Why?
No tenant is linked, or the tenant link is stale. Open Settings > Tenant Connection and reconnect.
Q: I cannot find the target group in step 5 (Choose Group). What do I do?
Type the Entra group name in the search field. If it does not appear, the group may not exist yet. Use Create Security Group in the wizard to create it, or create it manually in Entra admin center and retry.
Q: My deploy completed but the app does not appear in Intune. How long does it take?
Intune deployment propagation can take up to 60 minutes depending on Intune service load and device check-in frequency. Check Settings > Activity Logs to confirm PackMyApp reported a successful deploy before investigating Intune directly.
Q: Can I skip group assignment?
Yes. In deploy wizard step 5, click Skip assignment. The app is deployed without an assigned group.
Auto-Updates
Q: Auto-update management is visible but actions are blocked. Why? Auto-update management (enable/disable, schedule) requires Tier 1 or above. On Tier 0, the state is visible but controls are locked. Upgrade to manage auto-update behavior. See Auto-Update Management.
Q: How do I pause auto-updates for a specific app?
In the Updates Center or via the deploy wizard step 6, enable Pause auto-updates and optionally set a Paused until date for timed resume.
Billing And Plans
Q: I upgraded my plan but new features are not visible yet.
Sign out from the profile menu and sign in again. If still not visible, open Settings > Subscription and click Refresh invoices.
Q: What is the Tier 0 deployment quota? Tier 0 (FREE) is limited to 20 deployments per calendar month. The quota resets at the start of each month. Upgrade to Tier 1 or above for unlimited deployments.
Forge
Q: Forge is not available in my workspace. Why? Forge requires Tier 1, MVP, Tier 2, or Tier 3. It is not available on Tier 0. See Pricing, Plans, And Capability Map.
Q: Forge shows a validation error for my installer. What do I do?
Edit the install command, uninstall command, or detection rule manually. Run Run validation again after editing. If you have already tested the installer on a reference machine, you can also skip validation.
