Topbar Customer Switcher

Prerequisites

  • Your tier supports multi-customer workflows (Tier MVP, Tier 2, or Tier 3).
  • At least two customer contexts exist in your workspace.
  • You know which customer you are switching to and why.

What Is The Customer Switcher?

The topbar customer switcher lets you change the active customer context without signing out. Each customer has its own linked Microsoft tenant, so switching customers effectively changes which tenant your deploy and update actions will target.

Always verify the active customer before starting a deploy or update. Wrong-customer deployments push apps to the wrong tenant.

Click Path

  1. In the app topbar, click the Customer button (shows the current active customer name).
  2. In the switcher panel, confirm the label of the current active customer.
  3. Click the target customer from the list.
  4. If PackMyApp prompts for Microsoft re-authentication, complete the sign-in flow for the selected context. This is required when the customer uses a different Entra identity.
  5. Wait for the workspace to refresh. The topbar customer label should update.
  6. Confirm the switch completed: - Check the customer label in the topbar. - Open Settings > Tenant Connection to verify the tenant linked to the new customer context.
  7. Re-verify tenant state before running deploy, update, or billing-sensitive actions.

Expected Result

  • Active customer context changes to the intended customer.
  • Tenant badge in Settings reflects the new customer's linked tenant.
  • Subsequent deploy and update actions target the correct customer/tenant.

If It Fails

  1. If the customer switcher button is missing, verify your tier supports multi-customer workflows.
  2. If the list is empty, confirm that multiple customers are linked in Settings > Customer Workspace.
  3. If the switch appears to complete but context does not update, retry from Settings > Customer Workspace directly.
  4. If a Microsoft re-authentication prompt appears and is dismissed, the switch will not complete. Restart the switch and complete the auth flow fully.
  5. Always re-check tenant state in Settings before continuing with deployment.
